What do we protect?
The dignity of life
We do not regard people solely as labor, data or scores. Our respect extends beyond humanity to nature, ecosystems and future life.
HCSRI Ethical Life’s vision for social infrastructure
Nurturing the potential of people and society,
and passing that value to the next generation.
Rooted in the dignity of life,
a new vision connecting science and society.

About HCSRI

HCSRI (Human Capital & Social Resilience Infrastructure) is Ethical Life’s vision for a shared foundation linking philosophy, science and real-world practice.
We see health, work, learning and our relationship with nature as interconnected parts of how people and society recover, adapt to change and expand their possibilities.
We aim to understand challenges through science, connect education, technology, culture and local wisdom, and pass the resulting value on to future generations.
A future of coexistence and shared value
A society where people, communities, nature, AI and technology coexist, preserving possibilities for life yet to come. Our guiding principles
Science, technology and the economy—
all in service of protecting and nurturing life.

What do we protect?
We do not regard people solely as labor, data or scores. Our respect extends beyond humanity to nature, ecosystems and future life.
How do we respond to difference?
While respecting one another’s dignity, we seek to understand differences in culture, generation, experience and values, and explore ways to coexist.
What kind of society do we build?
People and nature, people and technology, the present and the future: we nurture lasting relationships based on mutual support, rather than domination or exclusion.
Connecting philosophy with society
Working between different worlds, drawing on their wisdom,
and carrying the value we create into society and the future.

We see the boundaries between science and culture, body and mind, tradition and innovation as places where new questions and value can emerge.
We reconnect academic disciplines, technologies and ideas while respecting the distinctive character and history of each, rather than simply blending them together.
We take research beyond papers and learning beyond knowledge, connecting people with society, communities with the world, and the present with the next generation.
How we understand value
In HCSRI, capital means more than financial assets. It is accumulated value that supports the potential of life and society and can be passed on to the future.
Life itself is not capital.
All capital serves life.

The capacity to maintain health, recover from illness or stress, and adapt to environmental change, together with the foundations that support it.
The abilities and potential people can develop and express, including knowledge, skills, experience, creativity and judgment.
The dynamic capacity to face pressures, recover, adapt and learn. It does not measure how much hardship a person can endure.
Trust, cooperation and mutual support between people and organizations: the foundations that help communities and society overcome difficulties together.
Water, soil, oceans, forests and biodiversity, together with nature and local wisdom that sustain life through food.
History, tradition, a sense of beauty and the capacity for lifelong learning, including the ability to pass specialist skills and practical wisdom to the next generation.
The capacity to use AI, robotics, life sciences and other technologies to protect life and expand human abilities and possibilities.
The capacity to apply knowledge, technology and intellectual property to social challenges through collaboration among communities, universities and industry.
The capacity to create social value and sustainable economic value by making progress on social challenges.
The capacity to carry value created today into education, research and social infrastructure for the next generation, expanding future choices.
A framework for science and practice
Rather than drawing conclusions from a single measurement, we observe change, act and assess again. HCSRI connects this ongoing process with the potential of people, organizations and communities.

A concept for measurement and assessment
Human Capital Resilience Index
An original assessment concept that considers health, well-being, resilience, performance and other factors to identify conditions that can be improved and changes in the environment.
It does not score human worth or rank people’s value. Contextual factors and the reliability of the data are also considered.
A foundation for improvement
Measure / Assess / Act / Improve
A foundation for real-world practice that uses measurement results to prioritize challenges and connect actions relating to food, rest, learning and working environments with reassessment.
We aim to develop the insights gained into everyday practices, organizational systems, skills and culture.
Understand conditions and context
Clarify challenges and priorities
Address behavior and the environment
Measure change and inform the next step
HCRI is an original assessment concept, not an ISO certification. The effectiveness of its indicators and interventions is examined through research and validation, with established findings distinguished from hypotheses still under investigation.
Our approach to science and technology
Respect for human dignity and rights is a prerequisite for measurement and the use of AI. We value informed consent, the protection of personal information, fairness and explainability.
People remain responsible for reviewing important decisions, rather than relying solely on AI output. We do not select only convenient results, and we present hypotheses as hypotheses. This approach underpins our research and real-world practice.

Connecting with the future
Turning today’s achievements into tomorrow’s possibilities.
Education, research, food, culture and community development.
Circulating the value created today to nurture future life and society.
This is the future envisioned by HCSRI.
ETE Academy envisions education that connects knowledge with practice and ethics with wisdom, centered on five paths: aspiration, scholarship, martial disciplines, the arts and food.
From homes to communities and cities, we envision a Smart Resilience City that connects health, food, nature, culture and technology.
Care circulates. Life flourishes.
